Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Michigan University. She received her Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Wayne State University in 1982. Kathy holds the American Speech Hearing Association's highest credential, the Certificate of Clinical Competence.  She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association and the Michigan Speech and Hearing Association. Kathy is the owner of South Shore Speech, LLC and has over 25 years experience evaluating and treating communication disorders. She is a developer of a regionally based program for Speech and Language Development including assessment procedures and an intensive treatment program for Verbal Apraxia and Motor Speech Disorders. She has been engaged in private practice at South Shore Speech, LLC since 2000. Areas of specialty include language based learning disabilities, Verbal Apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorders including Asperser’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, as well as language delay.
Jody Lesniak is the Office Manager at South Shore Speech, LLC. She has been working in this capacity at South Shore Speech since 2004. She graduated Cum Laude from Nazareth College with a Bachelor’s of Art in English and Secondary English and Art Education Certification. Before her time at South Shore Speech, Jody taught Middle School Language Arts at St. Joseph and St. Philip Middle Schools for 7 years and substitute taught for preschool through adult education for numerous years.
